(More customer reviews)I haven't played the saxophone in about 12 years. I recently went to a jazz club and fell back in love with it. After doing some research on pricing and quality, this sax almost seemed too good to pass up. I definitely feel this is a perfect instrument for a beginner to intermediate player, or someone just testing the waters on an alto sax. It's a great price and the instrument plays as you would expect.
The low note it will play is B-flat. The high note is F-Sharp. Great range, and it was easy to pick back up. The only thing with it is it comes with a #2 reed. This might be good for a beginner, but if you've played before, I recommend going out and getting a different reed (I went out and bought some Rico #3 reeds).
If you're looking at purchasing this sax, you're looking at it because you feel that it's at a great price. But you're worried that the quality of the instrument isn't there. I can say, from my experience with it (played it every day for the last 2 weeks), unless you're planning on trying out for a some orchestra gig, this is a great instrument to begin/continue on.
