I don't really use the whole silent brass system. However, I love the mute alone.
Pros:
1. Plays more IN TUNE than other practice mutes I have tried! BIG plus!
2. Even sound throughout registers when practicing
3. Great for blasting low notes and playing loud!
4. Perfect for apartment practice and hotels-- barely audible
5. Great for concert warm-ups onstage
Cons:
1. Adds a little weight to the bell... however, the alternative mutes (such as best brass) don't play as well in tune!
2. Not sure that the whole system is needed... I think the mute is enough
Overall: Worth it!!!!
