(More customer reviews)Hi All,
For a cellist who wants to be able to play in an apartment (wife sleeping in the next room, landlord lives downstairs) this is a must. I've researched several different makers- Ned Steinberger, Epoch, Vector and Bridge, and selected the Yamaha Svc 110 for a few reasons...
1st- The sound parallels or exceeds that of the other makers.
2nd- The shape is classically functional- nothing bizarre and acoustic geometry is intact, making it easy to transition back and forth from my acoustic.
3rd- Made from exceptional quality materials- a very solid instrument.
4th- The sound is amazing! Did I already mention that?
The only drawback is the stock bridge which is flatter than usual. If you buy an SVC 110, just plan on visiting your local luthier and buying a proper bridge. Other than that, the purchase that I've saved up for over a year for, exceeds my expectations.
