(More customer reviews)We bought the YCL-250 clarinet in 2005 for our daughter as she started band at school. My online research then indicated that this instrument, though not the cheapest option, was highly recommended for beginners. We compared it against a few other similarly priced pieces, but this Yamaha clarinet had the best fit and finish at this price point. Its case was also much better than others that we viewed. It still plays well and we have not had to incur any repairs on it. If I was looking for a student clarinet today, I would pick another YCL-250.
