(More customer reviews)I am a intermediate player. I picked the guitar back up after 10 years. I was mostly a rock strumming, chords, some finger picking style of player. Recently i've been getting more into pre war country blues styles. I had used elixir phosphor and 80/20(i found them to sound like the strings not the guitar, but they last forever), daddario ej16's (excellent sound, higher bright end), EXP's (good overall), martins(too tinny for me), etc. On my FG730S these strings really shine. The Yamaha is only 6 months old and hasn't "open up" completely yet. The highs are really really bright and the lows are full. These strings really make this guitar sing. I know sound is all relative to the player, but i'm telling you, they sound rich, mellow, and smooth. They would be good for beginners too as they are very easy on the fingers. I've had them strung for 3 weeks so far. I play 2-3 hours a night and they still sound crisp.
