This is his first guitar, so I purposely waited in writing a review until he became more accustomed to playing and familiar with this particular guitar. First of all we both think this a nice guitar for a beginner. The original guitar strings were just OK, the first E string broke, so my son had to change the strings, he chose to use the brand- D'addario light 0.12 strings. Between, practicing every day and changing the strings, we could definitely hear a difference in the sound quality of the guitar. The look of the guitar is a beautiful lightly gloss laminated finish. The gig bag is a bit cheap, and a small hole tore near the zipper a few days after buying it, but other than that it is holding up. If you plan to use your guitar daily, you might want to invest in a better carrying case. All in all, no complains for a first guitar.
