(More customer reviews)I'm a big fan of Yamaha, who has recently acquired Steinberg and is manufacturing this product. After agonizing years of trying to work with Yamaha's O1X, I decided to switch to the Mackie Universal Control and use the MR816 as the audio interface, as it really integrates well with Cubase, the main input sequencer on my rig. I bought the product at full price when it was first released, and after about a year it started dropping firewire communication completely and at random every 30 seconds. Not only did Yamaha's warranty run out after the first 90 days, they can't repair it. So after 1 year of use, I'm out 1,300 bucks. The product isn't selling well at all, which is why the sudden price drop has occurred. That, of course, means that Yamaha and Steinberg will probably be dropping the product all together soon. I'd mention the chance of them offering continued support, but they don't support it right now. If you buy this product after reading this review, you're not thinking clearly.
